Sweat Down
Your Spine

April
Fools Day was no joke
Three
times lucky
Riding
a high that has lasted half a decade
Excited
isn’t the best word, but it’s the first that comes to mind
Expectations
thru the roof based on changes in mood
There’s
not a rainy day in this parade
Life
is good
The
12th Ring of Hell starts flexing its muscle
Time
to submerge with beer in hand
Light
the grill and do some flips
I
feel like a creep as I watch sweat roll down your spine
The
Pulpit applies some pressure
April
showers bring May flowers,
But
those flowers are starting to wilt
The
12th Ring of Hell is in control
The
heat becomes oppressive
Water
up to my chin
The
sweet smell of a grill
That
dirty, creepy feeling as I follow the sweat down your spine
A
Yankee comes to visit
The
heat is becoming too much
Witness
Relocation is not received well
A
small distance feels like forever,
But
we still do flips in the sun showers
Intimate
encounters are getting harder to find though
Tempers
are mirroring the temperatures
Fireworks
can’t distract from the stabbing in the back
Assumptions
start becoming reality
Too
many bucket mouths create a flood
A
bad decision made worse than it is
Wishing
I could follow the sweat down your spine
Feeling
love and being in love are two different things
The
attention of others is more important than the attention of one
Running
back to where it started seems like the right idea,
If
only so it’s easier to play with the monkey
Loving
to fight and fighting for something are two different things,
But
we already knew that
I just want to follow the
sweat down your spine
