Mirrors

Mirrors

By
Nathan Caleb Camerer

That can’t be me reflected in your eyes
You’re not a mirror
You can’t be
That’s not the way I see myself
In the right light,
From the right angle,
I’m kind of handsome
I kind of have some good qualities
Maybe you’re the right light
Maybe you’re at the right angle
Maybe…
Just maybe…
The way you see me has me dancing
I’m dancing in these gray clouds
You have me singing
I’m singing in the rain
I’m seeing myself differently
I see the world differently
Seeing colors in the sky I’ve never seen before,
But you can’t be a mirror
That can’t be me reflected in your eyes
I’ll just keep looking in them
Enjoying the view of me

The way you see me
