The Snowflake Theory

The Snowflake Theory

By
Nathan Caleb Camerer

Every relationship

Intimate or not

Is just as beautiful and unique

As a Snowflake

They are also just as fragile

The slightest bit of heat

And they melt

In a relationship

Intimate or not

That heat comes from family

Who ridicule

And say you can do better

That heat comes from friends

Who say you are from different worlds

That heat comes from relative strangers

Who want you for themselves

Every relationship

Intimate or not

Is a snowball

That has been rolled up

And thrown into hell

All you can do

Is hope you melt into each other

And turn into Black Ice

Which hides from the world

And slips everybody up

Then you melt away

While they stand there scratching their heads

Trying to figure out what just happened

By the time they do

It’s too late

You’ve gone through the gutter

And into the stream

Then it’s off to the creeks and rivers

Suddenly you’re a part of the ocean

And the world is yours

And nothing can stop you
