Can You Hear Me Now?
By
Nathan Caleb Camerer
If I stand still,
will you hear me?
You know I like to
pace
Maybe a tower is down
I’ll write it in a
letter instead,
But I can’t afford a
postage stamp
How can you hear me?
Maybe if I go native
I can send you smoke signals
I’m trying to hear
you
Your words are
confused by the words of others
Lost in the static of
a bad connection
I need to pay my
phone bill
Maybe write a text
Text a text?
Write me an e-mail
with the brightest colors of your soul
I’ll check next week
when my Wi-Fi is back on
It’s not that I don’t
want to read it
I’m just poor
I’m out of gas in
everyway
Meet me in the middle
of nowhere
Just name the time
Face to face and
voice to voice
I’ll check the
batteries in my hearing aides
Make sure you do the
same
Will you hear me
then?
Can you hear me now?
