Conflicted

Conflicted

By
Nathan Caleb Camerer

There’s a war raging
It’s raging inside of me
A war between my mind and my heart
A war where my passion is playing Switzerland
Battles brought on by awkward encounters
Awkward encounters where I think of you
The angel in my bed
The future embodied
Maybe
Possibly
The war rages on
What to do
Where to go from here
The war rages on
Collateral damage
Friends lost
Friends gained
Is this real
Am I being used
The war rages on inside
It took awhile for you to find me
Can you save me
Can you end the war
The conflict continues
I’m a police state
And you are the occupying force
Enforcing martial law
The war rages on
Can you end the war
Can you end the occupation
End it
End it now
Can this war be over
Can we end the war that rages
The war that rages inside
The war is over
The war is over
No longer the angel in my bed
No longer enforcing your will
Your will that I willingly follow
Searching the wreckage
For anything that is left
Finding nothing but knick knacks
And trinkets
The war is over
