I’m somewhat damaged

I’m somewhat damaged
I’m somewhat broken
I’m somewhat amazing
I’m somewhat lovable
It depends on the day
It depends on what is looking back at me
When I look in the mirror in the morning
Is it my father’s son
Or is it the sad angry clown
Or is it the hopeless romantic
I don’t feel so damaged
When I hear your voice
Or when the respected
Give me a pat on the back
I don’t feel so broken
When I feel your arms around me
I feel amazing
When I can finally make sense
Of the words in my head
And put them down for the world to see
I feel lovable
When the cracks in this mask
Are hidden by the smile on my face
This great smile of mine
It hides the somewhat fractured soul
It makes me look somewhat happy
I might be somewhat retarded
I might be somewhat dead inside
It depends on the day
It depends on what looks back at me
When I look in the mirror in the morning
I know I’m somewhat hopeless
I’m also somewhat hopeful
It depends on the reflection
Looking back at me
When I look in the mirror
