Where I'm Going

Where I'm Going

By

Nathan Caleb Camerer

Where I'm going might be hell, but tonight it feels like heaven.
Just for tonight.
One night.
Maybe one more.
I want to go to a place where satisfaction comes in 12 second bursts.
Every 12 seconds for 54 years, give or take a few.
Or just for one night.
One night.
One more night.
Maybe one more night.
That's where I'm going.
I'm going to a place where the Sun and the Moon argue.
An argument over you.
Where do you belong?
Where I'm going, I win that argument.
I win because of your reflection in my eye.
Can you see yourself the way I do?
Just for tonight.
For one night.
For one more.
Maybe one more.
Where I'm going, the signs are written in neon lights.
The signs that lead to the corners of your mouth always turned up.
Do you have the eyes to see them?
I can write it on a napkin.
I'll write my number and what my interests are.
I'm going to a place where your home is our ceiling and mine is our floor.
Just for tonight.
One night.
One more.
Maybe one more.
I want to go to a place where I'm what you see when you look at me.
I want to see my reflection in your eye.
Look me in the eye.
See me.
I see you.
Just for tonight.
One night.
One more night.
Maybe one more.
That's where I'm going.
Just for tonight.
One night.
One more night.
Maybe one more night.
Maybe one more night.
