Chances
By
Nathan Caleb Camerer
1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th
5th chances
When is enough
Where was the line
That was drawn in the sand
Was it crossed
On the way
To the grass
That is always greener
On the other side
The slope is slippery
If you try, try again
Does your footing get more sure
Learn from your mistakes
Move forward
Progress
Compromise
Adapt
Adjust
Modify
Keep drawing lines
In sand that is constantly changed
By the ebb and flow
Of the tides of life
6th, 7th, 8th, 9th
10th chances
I won’t stop, not ever
Crossing that line
Scratched in sand or dirt
Engraved in steel
Carved in wood
That first step is a big one
And you’re worth it
